Ok, I think the rubber hangers on my driver side muffler are starting to go. Here's why... The muffler all of a sudden is noticeably lower than the passenger side muffler. I will post a picture later but I know I did not back the exhaust into anything and I am the only one who drives my car. Does this sound like a symptom of the dreaded dry rotting of the Borla rubber hangers? I just got off the phone with Borla and had them ship 2 new sets of rubber hangers in case the other side goes, if this is the problem. Comments and opinions welcomed. Thanks guys.
this is the exact issue I have with the Borla's and have considered a change to the L-Tuned. I called them about it and they shipped me the 2 new hangars as well, but they are still a much cheaper/inferior hanger when compared to the factory mounts utilized by the L-Tuned. There was a thread on here a while back on this. Most of the time I think people won't even realize they are hanging too low...I actually check them now periodically just to make sure.
Thanks, I will get the new hangers and take it from there. This winter has taken a beatening on my car, so I guess it's to be expected. I'll just keep calling them every year and getting new hangers I guess, I love the look of the Borla's compared to L-tuned to make the switch. Appreciate the info. BTW, when did you move to Alabama ? HAHA
I'm not sure what the hangers look like on the Borlas, but you mention rubber hangers. My Tanabe exhaust uses rubber hangers and I was having problems with "droop" as well. I purchased a few adjustable hose clamps [metal clamps with the screw adjustment] and was finally able to set the height. And these will not sag or deteriorate over time.
When I had my custom exhaust made in Japan I found some poly hangers at Autobacs. I don't see any reason they wouldn't have them in the states. They were listed on the back as to what car they fit.
Ok got the new hangers and I looked under my car today since the weather is finally springlike. What I found was that the hanger is in good condition and no problems with it. The metal piece that sticks out from the muffler that goes into the rubber hanger had fallen out of the hanger. So I had to just put it back in and presto, all good. Apparently my driver's side can't be pressed in as far as my passsnger side due to the fact that the muffler tip will be resting on the bumper cutout and cause melting. I guess I am going to have to get the pipe heated up and bent so I can insert the metal piece all the way into the hanger. In any event, I am a happy camper with back up hangers to boot.

Just call up Borla, 1-877-462-6752, and tell them your exhaust for the GS needs new rubber hangers, they'll send them to you for free. Good luck and have your exhaust's part # just in case they ask you, which I think is BOR-11733!
I solved that issue a couple of years ago by just going into your local auto parts and picking up two hangers per side for a camry, yes a camry. The mufflers have never sagged or come off the hangers ever again. I have the RMM exaust.
