Default Need advice on cheap exhaust mods

I apologize if this has been discussed but I couldn't find anything definitive through searching. I'm looking to make my exhaust truly sound like a v8, but I don't want to spend 600+ on an aftermarket exhaust.

I've read a lot about muffler and resonator deletes, and I don't want any excess cabin drone. I want it to just have a nice bassy tone without being loud enough to attract attention.

I was thinking maybe the best setup for me would be a muffler delete with resonated tips, what do you guys think? Any advice or personal experience is welcomed. Thanks!

In for info as well..

I can tell you I have Tanabe medallion axle backs, PPE headers, and stock resonators, and my car is very quiet at idle, and still really quiet even at WOT. So I think the stock resonators really do a great job killing the noise.

I want to do cut out some (or all) resonators too, but I'm not sure which one to start with, the big one or the two little ones.

Just do the muffler delete and leave the resonators, without them the tone is raspy and tingy. It will sound like complete **** without them.

Do you think resonator tips are over the top? Because I want that nice deep growl but I don't want it to be loud enough to attract police attention.

Thanks for the reply!

you best bet is to browse youtube and our exhaust sticky thread here... Many different combos... No resonators, high flow resonators, muffler delete, the list goes on....

I already saw just about every YouTube video, but I'll check out the exhaust thread too.

The only helpful clip I found in the exhaust thread was this one. I don't know if the sound quality is crappy or what but it doesn't sound that great at about 2k rpm. Is that the drone that I fear? Lol

Should I be considering resonated tips or is the video just bad quality?

I think I may just start with the muffler delete and see how that goes. Because with the resonator delete it just sounds too pingy.

One more question, is it possible to reuse the stock muffler tips?
