Torque and hp down low and in mid end is what matters in practical terms, not when the RPM is high. Whatever he gained near red line won't feel like anything. However, what he's lost will definitely feel sluggish.

 

which line is stock and which injen? red or blue? If you lost power then injen is red and stock is blue
