Hello Everyone,

I have a 2006 IS250 AWD with 72000 miles it has a leak on the mid-pipe (y-pipe). I got it weld two months ago and now it seems like it getting louder. I read on some previous post about 8 years/80,000 emission warranty I was wondering if I can still get the y-pipe replaced under this warranty even though I got it weld...I am not sure if welding voids the emission warranty?

You know, you raise a very good point. I bet it is still covered under the emissions warranty, if the exhaust system hasn't been tampered with. Welding to try to fix a problem, is IMHO, not tampering. Ask the dealer, and if you don't like the answer, contact Lexus.

Emissions warranty would cover the midpipe if there is an issue with the catalytic converters causing a CEL. The pipe leaking shouldn't be covered.

Check with your dealer to confirm though.
