Default which intake do you prefer?

hey guys..

I was trying to do some make over to my 12 2IS(front lip and diffuser) but as I research it...I found out I dont have much to choose from..which it sucks...so.....I decided to get intake first..

Which brand do you guys prefer? I kinda like Takdeda and was wondering what you guys think about? or anything that you can suggest will help too..

^

there is NO "out of the box" cold air intake for this car

F-Sport/Joe Z are not cold air intakes
they're cooler vs. short rams, that does not make them cold.

a custom setup is a whole 'nother story

Why don't you make your own F-sport intake? I made my for 30 bucks. It sounds awesome…

k&n...had it, *****ty filter, oil takes forever to dry
aem...friend had it, this whole electronic tuned is market bs
fujita...friend had it..nothing special
takeda....had it, probably the best sri for this car..basically almost same as k&n with heatshield and all but the afe dry pro s filter has better filtration and it's a dry filter so no need for oil crap (although lower capacity than k&n which is negligible for this vehicle)

IIRC, the Takeda is the only one that came with a heat shield and is just as audible as the other "open" SRI's. From a performance stand-point, you're not looking at gaining any HP no matter which you choose. It's strictly brand prefereance.

Actually you do have a choice and this will answer your question. It is the only CAI that really runs cold air consistently available for our car. All the others will eventually get heat soaked or not take in enough cold air to really get your $200+ worth...

Oh btw as for the lips I am in the same boat as you I have a 2012 too. I was actually looking at getting a front wind splitter similar to the APR Performance type and a side splitter under the side skirts since as you mentioned we don't have many choices for 2011 - 2013 models.

I'm ordering takeda next week. One of my clients have it and sounds great plus no oil for the filter so I'd guess that lowers the risk of a faulty maf sensor down the road. Not saying it eliminates all but it's one less factor ( the oil from the filter )
