Default GS400/SC400 engine difference

They are both 1UZ-fe right? what are the differences between the 2? I know that the GS400 engine has the intake in the front rather than side like the SC400.

Thank you
Dennis

Actually, in 98 the 1UZ-FE (4.0 V8) is almost identical in the GS400, SC400 and LS400. The GS400 has a better exhaust system and therefore has 10hp/10tq advantage. The differences between 90-97 engines and the 98-2000 engines are many including ecu controlled variable valve timing and variable area intake manifolds and higher flow exhaust manifolds. All 98+ engines have the throttle body at the front of the intake. Do a search under my name and you will find many posts on these subjects.

may be a dumb question but let me get to it straight.

I'm looking at(in photo) of a rod millen GS400 supercharger mounting braket. It looks like it may fit... what do you think?
