Default Need a drop-in injector upgrade

Anyone know what other cars might provide an injector that would be a drop-in upgrade for the GS300 (2JZGE)?

Stock is 305cc/min, high Z, top feed, and I'm looking for something around 430cc/min.

Thanks.

My Aristo has 430cc injectors so if you can wait about 2 more months I am planning to up mine. You can also go to the Supra websites alot of people upgrade theirs and the stock Supra has 550cc. Anything larger and you will need a new fuel rail. You will need to either get a new computer or get it reprogrammed for the injector upgrade. You need to get a better fuel pump as well to make any difference.

Are they top feed, high impedence? If so, PM me when you're ready.

Yes, but the stock 550 is low impedencem and side feed. In no way would this work for me, unless I wanted to upgraded my rails. Yes, rails plural. I'm not doing this on a Lexus. The GS300 305cc is an upgrade for the 3.4L Tacoma, but I want to go to 430cc or so.

Thanks, I've got all that sorted out.

correct me if i'm wrong,

but the supra injectors from a twin turbo is top feed...

low impedance, but top feed.

the only car i know of that has side feed are subarus with their boxter engines...

not sure what other cars have the side feeds...

side feed injectors are a lot more efficient than top feed injectors.
if you guys didn't know, the use of side feed injectors allow you to run at close to 100% duty cycles where top feed injectors will only allow you to run up to 80% duty cycles accurately.
this is because in the side feed configuration, the incoming fuel is used to cool off the solenoids and prevent the coils from overheating... basically changing the inductance of the coils...

in any case though, if you're looking for injectors.... might want to get them from RC engineering... they'll clean and balance them for the lifetime of the injectors at no cost.

Aristov300e,

can you get your hands on a V300 front clip?
or at least full swap?

Nope. Side feed. I have a set right in front of me, as well as the 2JZGTE rail they came from. These are an upgrade to the 2nd gen 3sgte (90-93 Alltrac / MR2-MkII), which also uses side feed, low Z, but 430cc/min.

Now you know of two more.

Yes, at a price. I like to buy used [cheap] injectors, and have RC clean them.

tartan,

from my past experiences with ordering greddy injectors for the 2jz-gte... they are all top feed injectors...

i'm about 99.9% sure about this...
i'll search the web to confirm...

i'll try and find some pics

v300e, i was refering to a front clip...
chopped from the front dash to the front bumper...

don't they sell those in japan?
like the S13-S15 clips, honda clips, etc?

top feed injectors

side feed injectors

hm...
wait a minute...
guess i was wrong... people converting
opps, sorry

"Toyota's

US spec 2jz supra and 3s-gte from the gt4 have 550 low impedance side feed injectors.

Jap spec 2jzgte and 7ma-gte and 1 jz-gte have 430 side feed low impedance injectors.

most people convert to top feed as there are more injectors options there."

Small corrections. It's probably due to RC testing everything at 43psi, that everyone calls the 2jzgte injectors "550", when in reality, Denso considers them 540.

Additionally -- and I would know ... I own two gt4's -- the 1st and 2nd gen GT4s have 430cc injectors. It wasn't until the 94+ models, that the US didn't get, that the GT4 started using the 540cc.

2jz-gte stock injectors are side-feed, regardless of US (540) or J (430) spec.

The greddy/HKS 720/680 injectors are top feed, but are for a full fuel upgrade that use the HKS fuel rail designed for top feed.

Hahaha... 800cc and 890cc side-feed high-impedence injectors do exist. Plug and play... however, at these levels I highly recommend a fuel pressure regulator. I'm using the SARD one.
