1300 bucks for everything (parts and labor) sounds about right.

The rad. hoses and cam seals I could do w/o but figured while the motor was open mine as well. That would knock about $400 off the price.

Seems pretty good IMO... is this at Toyota or Lexus Dealer? Will toyota do the install if we provide all the parts?

No it's a privately owned shop. Toyota will do the install, but 99% of dealers will not use customer supplied parts.

I still have not got the service done, but I may use him for suspension work. The guy doing the TB/WP is a friend so i'm helping him out by bringing business to his shop. Also send me his number again via PM i misplaced it.

My 01 300 is at 230,000. I just did maintenance by replacing these parts:

TIMING BELT
IDLER HYDRAULIC TENSIONER
Idler pulley
DRIVE BELT - replaced, old kept for backup JIC (no cracks)
FRONT CAM SEALS
FRONT CRANK SEAL - not leaking, now have replacement when needed
WATER PUMP
O RING & GASKET
THERMOSTAT THERMOSTAT GASKET
SPARK PLUGS - not purchased / replaced working fine
UPPER & LOWER RADIATOR HOSE - not purchased/replaced working fine
BOTH OEM TOYOTA VALVE COVER GASKETS - not purchased/replaced no leaks detected
TOYOTA PVC VALVE - not purchased/replaced, can be cleaned and reused DIY (but we did not)
Bead blasted and reused 16351-46022 OUTLET, WATER BY-PASS
Bead blasted and reused 16268-46011 PIPE, WATER BY-PASS, NO.1
96761-24028 O-RING for top of outlet was reused
16268-46011 O-RING for ends of pipe no. 1, 2 of 2 damaged upon disassembly and were replaced with generic o-rings.

The parts cost 258.00 for the kit off ebay. All parts were Toyota, Mitsuboshi (belts), and the tensioner pulley was Koyo, actually tensioner wasToyota. The labor was performed by a professional mechanic and took 4-4.5 hours at a relaxed pace while we were chatting and we also stopped for dinner. His shop would have billed $80/hr if it was on the clock.

My OCV for the VVT-i just stuck and died last week. Replacement was 60$ and can be replaced DIY in 20 minutes.
