Well, the guy who did it in his solstice bis putting down over 800whp. Has survived no lift shifting, 6000rpm clutch dumps and a bunch of high speed 180mph runs. Not sure anyone has tested the limits on an ar5.

Considered a Z32/Z31 tranny? My buddy works for a Nissan dealership/has a vh45 swapped S14 and he is using the NA 5 speed out of a 300z. The NA is apparently the same internally as the Turbo tranny but has a smaller bell housing. He also has a CD009ish tranny out of a 370z and said the NA 5 speed is much smaller.

Collins and a couple others make adapter plates for it.

And I'm pretty sure it's the same/similar length to w55, and can be shortened. And I found a thread of a guy with an IS that did the swap. I couldn't tell for sure if he modded the transmission tunnel or not though.. I don't think he did.

I can possibly measure the width of it this weekend...

Yea its pretty much a dropped and moved project. I wanna drop a 2JZ hooked to a CD009 into something. The transmission in its stock form is what has me going. The GTE CD009 is a great combo...on paper. This chassis is my problem. Collins s13 has a CD009 in it right now. For the 6k on a v160 I can probably get a GTE AND a good rolling chassis haha. Once I find a chassis I will start a new thread in clublexus since the motor will definately be a 2JZ and link this thread as a pickup point.

Drifting
Videos are on stock suspension, car has since had BC coilovers put on and is getting a re-wiring right now so its the perfect time to do the tranny swap. He has a ton of room and its sitting further forward.

I snapped a few pics of the donor car when I at sleepydubs house. Car is still down but should be ready for a drift event on the 17th of this month. CD009 will go for a stab in this car after the drift event.
Couple pics:
The coil packs and map sensor will be moved to that square compartment behind the engine thats open. That should help with coil heat, apparently hes gonna have the wires come out of one spot of the cover that goes there and straight to the spark plug hole....should be pretty clean.

Cool bimmer man I've always been a fan of that body style, that sucks about the tranny though that would have been a good option.

Your going to need to start at the firewall. The firewall opening will need 2-3" of banging at the radius as well as 2-3" the full length of the tunnel. In post 41 you will see the pic of the engine with bracket on it; this is with the engine hanging down as far as it will go and still barely any space. I do think the entire tunnel needs to be CUT out cause theres a huge size difference and the stock tranny barely fits itself. The shifter **** will sit in the cup holder but somehow i think that can be fixed. Would be nice if you make it work.
