Default What Exhaust?? Megan?

Hi CL. Has anyone ever heard the Megan Axle Back exhaust? I only found a couple videos on youtube. It Sounds alright on video but i dont know if it has a bad drone. What im looking for is an exhaust that sounds deep, loud but a classy loud. I want to be able to have a conversation with the passenger while driving without the car vibrating. I heard the F sport exhaust is too loud. Please let me know if the Megan Axle Back is a good or bad choice.

I know Juvi22003 just got the megan exhaust but Ive never heard it

If you think the Fsport is loud, I would suggest looking at a tanabe exhaust

Welcome to CL. I'd say you're looking for a Tanabe exhaust. You can search for it on here and sound clips on YouTube.

lot of the tanabe owners say its too quiet lol thats why they either add intakes or get invidia midpipes...I want the megan midpipe so bad haha and combine it with the Tanabe, i think that'd be perfect

I had a Tanabe but it was too quiet for me with my FSport intake so I switched to the FSport exhaust. The sound is not loud and perfect for me.

I had a friend who had a mid pipe with a stock exhaust and wanted something louder. She got a Tanabe and said the mid pipe and Tanabe had too much a drone/loud for her.

Best way to figure out what exhaust or combination you would like is to attend some meets and see/hear other member rides. Good luck.

With the F-Sport exhaust you can hear a slight hum below 75mph, after that its a bearable drone. its pricey and worth it, I love the sound at idle, mid range and high RPMs

I think the perfect medium, in my honest and some-what biased opinion, is the Lexus HKS exhaust. It's not the HKS-HI Power with those rice canisters, but the first generation F-Sport with a tuned resonance chamber, UNLIKE the F-Sport.. See for yourself. You won't be able to find one new, because it was discontinued, making it very rare.

Here is a video of it.

Coincidentally, I also have one for sale. =o

The F-Sport exhaust has a chambered muffler and 1 straight through pipe. The Lexus HKS exhaust has 2 chambered mufflers. If you want 2 chambered mufflers tanabe will be cheaper.

I stand corrected regarding the chambered mufflers, but I also said it's the perfect medium between Tanabe and F-Sport. Yes, the Tanabe is cheaper, but it is also a lot quieter.

I also wanted a classy exhaust sound. I did not want to spend $1k+ on a ricer sounding exhaust.

I got the F-Sport Exhaust a year ago and LOVE IT. Plenty of growl on acceleration without annoying drone. I really only get drone at 80mph or higher and even then, you can talk over it.

If you can afford it, go Fsport.

same here. So if anyone with the F-Sport exhaust hears drone, they are speeding.
