Default IS250 Max Power?

I'm not planning to do any of this, just curious. Notice everything is accompanied by "assuming".

Assuming I was filthy rich and assuming I had nothing better to do with my money and assuming I never valued money to begin with, how much power could I squeeze out of IS250 (use infinite money cheat here ).

My personal guess, due to lack of aftermarket parts and the engine being so mod unfriendly, peak 55-60? And that will round up to about 8k? What do you guys think?

Again I'm not saying I will do it so don't say "youre better off with a 350". I know that, I'm just curious.

Realistically, you could get the following: Exhaust, midpipe, intake, headers, and a supercharger kit.

You will probably get ~50hp out of the supercharger, ~18 from the headers, ~10hp from exhaust/midpipes, and ~5hp from the intake.

Now with an infinite amount of money, you could pay Toyomoto (engine swapper here in South FL) and you can swap a 2JZ in. Hes the only one who has managed to do that and he does engine swaps for a living. I think the labor alone would cost 30K.

Exactly the type of answer I was looking for . Thanks man, in the end, with the supercharger and the headers and midpipes and intake I still have less than IS350 lol

^ correct. Lol. Look for my dyno results when I get off my butt and spend the $75 to dyno. It will be pretty much max power out of a 250 since I have LMS Supercharger, PPE headers, and JoeZ racing exhaust. Call me reckless with my money but I love the car I created

Not bad to go with these upgrades if you really want to. Try also maxing control on handling, sway bars, coilovers springs and brakes upgrades..

remember hp gains doesn't just stack up on top of each other with every mod. they all work in conjunction so look for dyno proven combos. dont use ricer logic.

I forgot to mention, in reference to the 2JZ: When the swap was done, I believe it was done with a base model IS. The electrical wiring is already complex as it is, that if the swap was attempted in a car with nav, park assist, etc, then those features would most likely not be able to work after the swap.

I’ve been wondering where I could find help to put a 2jz in it good to know😁 yeah there’s not much you can do to this car to upgrade like you’re not going to see real hp gains but there’s a lot you can do to make this car more fun to drive. All of the stuff mentioned can be found through rr racing I got their tune, intake, air oil separator, and steering bushings. They have some quality parts and a couple that actually help flaws in the design of is250 like the air/oil and bushings. They have the supercharger kit exhaust headers pretty much everything on their website and there’s more out there if you have trouble finding it go on YouTube you’ll find vids about upgrades you want recommended brands and maybe even stuff you didn’t know you could do to the car but yeah I’ve already invested my life into turning my rebadged Camry into a racecar so trust me when I say you will end up spending enough to buy at least another car😭😂

yes I believe so.

i wonder if a engine swap with a brand new Chevrolet crate engine such as the 430hp ls3 or up to the 650hp lt4, if it would be any faster than a 350 or a is-f

Noticed no ones posted an update in a while about supercharger stuff so though I would as of march 2025 rr-racing has a lot of performance upgrades for the is250/350 including a supercharger kit and on the 250 they are claiming and have dyno charts to prove 370 wheel HP and for a supercharger kit that has pretty much everything you need including a device to tune the car and a new base tune. $6200 isn’t a bad price though that is the sale price but it’s been going since I first found there site during covid boredom.
