Default How Long will a Modded Lexus Last?

I been thinking about this from time-to-time. As we all know we love the reliability and performance blend in our cars. From my point of view a Lexus 1JGZE V8 can last 200K miles no problem..
Ofcourse I 've seen some LS400's with 300K miles and still runs like new.

The Question is how long will our cars last with majority of the upgrades on it??? - Like Intake, Exhaust, TC and TRDLSD or TorsenLSD - I'm talking about motor longevity..

Wouldn't you say it will take 20% of life away. Theres aways a trade off.
Like when Putting on a Supercharger - you must know and accept you will decrease the life of your engine by 40-45%..

So what do you guys think, For a fairly Modded 1JZGE V8?

It depends. Do you USE your mods. You can have all the mods in the world, if u don't race or track your car, you won't notice. I figure once they are quality parts, it may EXTEND the life of the car. Reason being, it replaces a stock part.

1UZ-FE = 4.0L V8 (GS400/LS400/SC400)
3UZ-FE = 4.3L V8 (GS430/LS430/SC430)

Just FYI...

As for decreasing (or adding) engine life, that's really hard to say. There just isn't enough data and like Sick said, it all depends on how you use it...

I can take a stock GS out to the track every weekend and I guarantee I will kill it in a short period of time...as opposed to a fully modified (supercharger and whatnot) GS that I only drive hard every once in a while...

Default Longevity

1Sick : I never thought about that way. Good point..

Manaray : Point Taken, but I was just stating on an average - Say the Regular mill GS owner Drives his daily with A+ Maintenance with mildly uprgrades and of course the occssional street strip matches with all those performance inspiring drives on a somewhat basis.. Just Average..

Now that I see it differently - Maybe the life of our cars is extended somwhat but may equal out to stock (longevity)depending how much we use those upgrades..

So yer saying "If I Roll around like PopPaul" - my car is going to last forever.. HAHAHA LOL

Thanks,
QWK

I feel it depends on how you drive your car also. Yes a car is made to take a beating, however if you "beat" on any car it is going to have a more sever effect to the car than just driving it normally. Also if you do the right things to your motor and trans etc. etc. like 1Sick said if you do the right things to your car it helps it....this is all to true....companies like TRD, TOMS' etc. would not be around if their products did damage to your ride...

i've been driving my 1UZ-FE around pretty hard lately, like taking it up to high rpms and listening to the beautiful sound of the motor RRrrrzzzss down from 6000rpm, and driving around 3-4k rpms where the torque is so direct, am i gonna destroy my engine?

Hey Dude,
I don't think you will destroy your engine as long as you keep it maintenace A+++. I know I do - But The Fact is I'll been thinking that Our Modded Cars if done in good taste all the nice parts - Our cars should last longer because they are better parts that squeeze and harness the power and fun out of our cars.

For Instance- I read at Precison Ind.. The TC (Torque Converter) is such a good design that it actually Lowers the Temperature on the Transmission because he helps it to run more effeciently..

So, I guess - I anwered my own Question..

Later,
