Which mods on the LS430 will not void the warranty?

The LS430 has a U-LEV engine. I would imagine any changes at all could alter this rating and potentially be considered a problem. This may or may not be the case but something to consider. That said, a free'er flowing intake and a better flowing exhaust should let the engine make more power. Like the SC400 and LS400 vs the GS400 the higher rating is in the exhaust. Also, the 290hp rating on the LS430 is at a lower RPM (5600 vs 6000) than the LS400. The higher torque 320 vs 300 also occurs at a lower RPM, 3400 vs 4000. So, since the engine makes more torque earlier and makes more torque all the way to at LEAST 5600rpm... the 430 engine is making MORE power from idle to at least 5600rpm and probably close to 6000rpm. I haven't seen a dyno yet but would guess the 430 hits 290hp and basically holds at that power to near redline. Now, the SC430 and the GS430 have 10hp and 5tq more output. The ONLY difference in engines is probably the exhaust. Since we KNOW that the GS400 has a sub optimum exhaust with a 300cc smaller engine... we KNOW that the GS430 needs a better exhaust which means the LS430 is simply strangled.

A well made cat back exhaust system is the least likely to void your warranty. I am estimating up to 30hp gain on my LS400 with a properly engineered cat back exhaust so on a larger engined LS430 the power increase should be at LEAST as much.

Intake side is another area for improvement but a larger diameter MAF and TB feed would require a recalibration of the MAF sensor at least and that would be a warranty no-no. A high flow airbox may help some... mine is good for about 5rwhp. It is a straight forward mod that is easily restored to stock for those occasional dealer visits Even if it was not changed back I doubt the warranty would be argued. I just change mine back to avoid any concern at all.

Hope this is helpful to you.
