I have tried searching so and couldn't find much on the swap and details.

Im looking to convert my 99 gs300 and found a sc300 thats being parted out.

I would like to use the trans in the sc300 and anything else that I can use to convert.


Would the manual trans bolt up right to my motor without any problems?

What other things should I pull from this car, that would work on the gs?
I dont think the pedal and cylinder would work, from previous posts.

the trans will bolt to the motor no problem...it's getting it to fit properly with the rest of the drive train that will take some work.

Do you care about passing emission testing in your state? Serious question.

This is the best that I can give you at this point.

I have not attempt this myself and would love to hear how you will solve the emission problem.

 

So im guessing all i would have to do is leave everything plugged in and tucked away?

I'm not sure what the emissions testing is like in IL, but CA can be pretty crazy. You could go to a shady place and they wouldn't knock you down because it's a manual as long as the smog equipment is intact. Plus starting in 2013 in CA they only do visual & OBD2 Diagnostic and if you pass both then you're good to go. In and out in around 5 min. Just don't throw any codes.

 

I have 10 codes from having a manual that never go away, luckily I don't give a **** and also live in a state that doesn't check anything but lights and brakes for an inspection... But for other guys in tougher states that do plug in checks and visuals you will need to come up with something, I don't know if plugging every thing back in removed out of the the trans will work or not. You may be able to eliminate the solenoid codes by plugging them in, and you could prob get the same effect using the proper resistor to match up to the resistance each solenoid normally has. But I do think you may still get VSS codes popping up sometimes because the trans is not 'operating' properly.

I think I had seen that done on 147 obd1 engines/ecu's but not that I recall on a 161 jobd or 160 obd2 ecu....

When running a 161 jobd ecu it wouldn't matter if you got rid of the codes anyway it still won't pass a plug in obd check.

Mocking the connections of all the signals from the auto trans to the 160 obd2 ecu is your only viable option to have a clean plug in check.

Nope. If you want to pass plug in inspection you better keep it auto.
