I currently have the F-Sport Intake and I'm looking to get a louder one. I know that most intakes for the 2IS are short rams and are generally louder than the Fsport or Joe Z, so which one is the loudest?
After reading through a couple intake threads, it seems that Injen is the loudest. Any input guys?
So the aFe/Takeda intake has to be one of the loudest that Ive heard. If anyone is looking for one of the loudest short ram intakes for our cars, go for the Takeda! You wont be disappointed!
In case anyone is wondering, I still have the stock intake snorkel, I just didnt have it in any of the above pics. As far as I know, it directs more "cooler" air than a short ram without using the snorkel. I would call the Takeda, a "cooler air" short ram intake. Keep in mind, I use the term "cooler" very sparingly
why does it matter which one is loudest? shouldn't it be which one has the most performance gain? which would be the JoeZ pipe or F-Sport intake. not busting any ballz I just don't understand why loudest is a factor in a intake system??

Well since the JoeZ and F-Sport intake only make ~5hp, why not go after whatever intake is louder? Your not going to feel ~5hp so whats the point? Thats just my opinion though.
I finally got around to getting a Takeda and installed it last night. One problem I had though is that the rubber couplers are very cheap and mine broke so I used the one from my previous intake. But other than that, my exhaust tone is noticeably deeper and louder now which is what I want. Not looking to get much more power.
