Default Revving issue.

So I went and picked up my manager from the tint shop. It was the first time he had ridden in my car since it was stock. I pulled to a stop and put the car in park bc he wanted to hear the exhaust. I give the engine a good rev and it seemed to rev slow and then it wouldn't rev past 5k. It seemed to drive fine so I continue driving and we reach our lunch destination and again I put it in park and try to rev it. It won't go past 5k. I turn the car off and then back on and it finally is back to normal. Anyone have any ideas? Should I be worried. Did the car go into some sort of limp mode? Any help would be greatly appreciated. The car is an 06 is350 with 54k miles.

Was the car completely stone cold when you started it and still cold when you did the reving? If so, I seem to think that until the car is at least warm nearing operating temps that the ecu kills some timing...perhaps hindering your excessive reving there perhaps. How much longer did you drive to reach your lunch destination? I've actually never just reved the motor in netural before...though I drag race it at the strip all the time. LOL!
