Default Borla Exhaust Mufflers Not Enough

I have installed Borla exhaust mufflers only which was purchased from a fellow CL member on my GS 300.

The sound is a bit (only a bit nothing more) more than OEM. I want something that is a little more than what I have now that won't sound like a muscle car but have a nice aggressive deep sound too it.

I know nothing much about exhaust which is why I need some input on what I shall do next (installed bigger pipes, remove catalytic converter, cherry bomb etc...)

Also, would adding an intake contribute in any way?

Thanks in advance CL

I would like to get some feedback on any GS 300 running Borla mufflers that have removed resonators.

Lol those are some cute sparkles in your sig go to an exhaust shop and tell them to remove the resonators and center muffler. That will open it a bit more. They will know exactly what you are talking about. Hope this helps.

Like mentioned remove the two massive resonators on the rear y-pipe it will sound a bit louder. Depending on if you have a gs400/430, or a 98-00 / 01+ gs300 you can have another muffler in the mid pipe as well that you can delete. (some are cats not mufflers, but they are post secondary o2's location so they make no difference for cel's.

thanks for the response folks

Question: would removing either the resonators or center muffler produce any foul odor?

How about check engine light, would it come on from either removing resonators or center muffler?

I have the M2 exhaust on my car and in my opinion the system has the perfect tone you would want from a car like ours; subdued in the low RPMs and a little more aggressive once you get to WOT. For the money I don't think I could have made a better decision.

Would love to hear some sound clip...also, do you have a GS 300 or 400/430?
