how about the new Blitz Realize TT?

The Legalis R and the Kakimoto R slash are quieter than Borla. The Nur Spec Touring and Realize TT should be also quite quiet although how they compare is hard to say.

I know Blitz is releasing a few new Realize TT kits and all should be cat back. The Legalis R is full cat back. See?

I was looking at that exhaust and it looks like we may not use that front piece since that goes to the downpipe on the 2JZ motor. It does give you DB readings though which is nice.
I too am looking for the quietest exhaust since I'll be running cat free.

It will, I'm just saying we may not have to use that front little piece is all. As for how quiet I have no idea. Should be a relatively quiet system.

What is needed is a system that INCLUDES a true Y pipe from the cats. A center section back system will help some but the factory Y pipe needs help. There are some out there (in Japan) but I didn't see one from Fujitsubo.

Does ANYONE have a picture of a true cat back. Here is a fuzzy picture posted by Silver Flare in the LS forum.

Y-pipe my prove hard to find since this motor is not available in the GS in Japan. You can make one of course. I was thinking of making one to sell myself but wasn't sure if it was something people wanted or was already available somewhere. I would want to go from the header though eliminating the cats entirely.

Dan, unless you are building a race engine that will not use any mufflers... you might as well keep the cats as they do provide some muffling and flow about as well as a good reverse path muffler. Probably less than 5hp either way with the rest of the system flowing well. Now, you may want to install longtube headers and relocate the cats downstream, that would be a performance improvement, but no need to take them off and risk fines as well as pollute more. I am no tree hugger but like clean air over polluted air.

I am not certain but I am pretty sure that both the GS400 and the LS400 use the same exhaust manifolds. If this is the case the Y pipe pictured may bolt up to either car. I will try to take some measurements of the spacing between the cat outlets as well as the pipe layout dimensions for comparison with a GS.

If someone can confirm that, that may be a project I can start up. As for the cats, they always provide quite a bit of restriction and although maybe not worth a huge number on the dyno, removing them has helped quite a bit on acceleration times and throttle response on most any car I have removed them from. We'll see though. Since I'm going 2JZ conversion I probably won't test my theory out.

Dan, since you are doing a 2JZ conversion you will not be using your V8 Y pipe. If you will send it to me I will test fit it on my LS400 and post pictures. If it fits, the better flowing part for the Celsior from Japan would work for those wanting to upgrade their GS400s system.

What do you think? Worthy effort?
