Default air filter replacement question?

How often are you supposed to change your stock air filter?

Hmm for the air filter, depending on your area and your driving habits, I wouold NOT go with the factory schedule.

You can definetly fel the difference from when the filter is dirty and when it is clean. I drive quite a bit, about 25-29K miles a year and I see my filter get dirty about every 15K miles.

Just the filter? I think my dog could do it. Unhook clips around edge of air box, pull up top, remove filter, drop in new one, replace top, push clips back in place, done.

Service schedule recommended replace at 30,000 mile service or 24 months. I would replace it if it is dirty before the recommended time

I think the K&N air filter has a million mile warranty, so it probably will outlast your car. It'll need cleaning though, depending on your driving conditions but ususally every 12k miles or 1 yr.
