I just recently installed a invidia midpipe and Tanabe exhaust on my IS250 and now i have the check engine and vsc light on.
1. are those lights on because of my recent installment of the exhaust?
2. how do i reset those the check engine and vsc lights?
any assistance would help.
Thanks!
1) Search the Performance sub-forum for "midpipe CEL" and "exhaust CEL", there are tons of threads of people who have CELs as a result of installation of those parts. I think the main culprit would be the midpipe as opposed to the exhaust, as there's less to go wrong with the exhaust and most people I've seen with CELs have them arise after midpipe/headers installation.
2) To reset the lights, you have two options. One is to disconnect the battery and then reconnect it. This will clear the lights but it will also clear saved settings, etc. The easier and more advisable solution is just to pick up a $20-30 OBDII scanner on Amazon that allows you to read and erase codes. Then it's as easy as plugging it into the OBDII port near the driver's knee and erasing the codes. No disconnecting the battery, no losing settings, and you have the scanner to use in the future and on other cars if you have problems.
had the same problem check engine and vsc light.. car runs normal but i notice a delay on startup. reset my car by taking out the 25 and 10a in the fuse box. will chime in if i run into the problem again.
