Cold Air Intake
I just bought a Lexus IS 350 F Sport last week. I am thinking of adding the optional cold air intake. I would probably install it myself. Has anyone installed one and if so what proformance inprovement did you get from it?

Hi,
I have the Blitz Air intake on my IS300 (2nd Gen Middle Eastern IS with 3GR-FE 228HP engine). Once installed the car went on the first drive in some kind of weird mode, beeped 2 times. Since then engine response feels quicker, I guess if at all, I should have 3-5 HP more which in turn I shouldn't be able to "feel" from a base of 228HP. BUT, I feel the car being quicker and the engine more responsive and powerful. And that's all that counts ;-)
The single best enhancement is the sound. Boy do I love the sound of WOT now over 3500rpm, just sweeeeet.
Congrats to your IS350 F-Sport, wish this one would be available here too! Enjoy!

Do a search, there's dozens of threads on intakes.
The F-sport is pretty easy to install, 30-60 minutes if you've ever used a screwdriver before. Maybe 2 hours if you haven't and go very slow.
hp gains, yeah, in the 3-5 range, nothing you'll be able to feel, but the car'll make more noise over 3k rpms.

I believe the F-Sport Intake is the best mod for the money. It provides great sound (at about 4-5k rpm) which is "cosmetic" and although often debated (and perhaps just in my head) seems to help a bit in performance. Should be the first mod in that price range for any owner .

Awesome topic ! I too own an IS350 F Sport and was wondering the same thing. Pretty sure install was just like any other intake install...
I guess the next best question would be, where is the best/ cheapest place to get the F Sport Intake ?
Thanks in advance !

I was just about to make a thread about this...I have an 08 IS350 that needs an intake..I did however put the K/N drop in filter for free but I don't know whether I should get the F sport or the Joe Z and buy the F sport bottom half because I don't want to do all that cutting. I saw ebay and noticed 2 different prices so lets get some help here plz

Go to Sewell and make sure you are logged in as a CL member. $302.50 isn't bad. For $12.00 more you know what you are getting. MS2619 and 1sexylexus - take the plunge - you won't regret it!

I got the F Sport Cold Air Intake form Citrus City Lexus. It is an offical Lexus OEM F Sport part. So I am planning to intstall it this weekend. Has anyone had any issues with error messages after installing these?
