Default Better Tanabe Exhaust sound!

Is there anyway to improve the sound of the exhaust to a more throaty sound? Or is it better to just sell & try a new setup?

Adding a mid pipe just makes it more loud IMO. The F-Sport exhaust is pretty throaty just by itself.

For some reason my fsport exhaust doesn't seem throaty at all =\ its just deep sounding! but it still sounds really nice imo.

^^ The F-Sport does sound nice. I'm thinking about switching up my Tanabe exhaust to the F-Sport exhaust for aesthetic reasons. I like the way Tanabe sounds more but it's tips are a bit sunken in with the GFX rear lip..

Try cutting the resonator. my friend did it with his Greddy setup, sounds good.

Add the invidia mid pipe with the Tanabe. Sounds pretty good.

Just won a brand new F-Sport exhaust on eBay for $599 (+$30 shipping) . If it's no good, Paypal should refund me the money.

Hold up. This hadn't occurred to me until I read this. You saying he simply deleted his factory resonator, in the OE mid pipe? This would be simple to do. How much difference did it make? I have the Tanabe axle back and have been contemplating doing an Invidia mid pipe install, but worry that it will be too loud. Would you say this is somewhere in the middle?

Take out your resonators and cats! That's what I did with mine and I love it. Still plenty quiet inside and outside the car with normal driving, but once you go past 3k it becomes very loud and raspy on the outside!

No trick here, I just searched for "Lexus F-Sport" and see all the F-Sport things being auctioned. This one stood out because of the price. It ended with me being the first and only bidder. I'm not worried, Paypal will take care if anything is funny.

Its actually not too loud. It is a little more throaty and raspy. On cold start its pretty loud, but once it warms up you can noticed a difference in tone. Cost about $30 to do so.

Found a reputable muffler shop that will cut out my resonator and weld in a straight pipe for $40. Gonna try that first. They said that if I don't like it, they can put the resonator back in, and then I can go for the mid pipe (with the factory mid pipe still in tact). I will have opinion tomorrow night....

Midpipe and/or headers will have a huge impact on the sound of the Tanabe. Wakes it up for sure.... :-)
