Default Limited Slip Diff

I have been looking for a limited slip for my IS350. I hate how only one wheel spins and would like to put a good LSD on the car. Anyone have any ideas which company makes a good one and where i could order one from?

Got a spare $2000? because that's about what they cost... OS Giken makes one I think, and one or two others... all so insanely expensive I've never met anybody who actually bought one.

The IS-F does but not the ISX50s.

you might wanna price out the IS-F diff before saying that... (it's even more insane than the aftermarket ones)... plus IIRC the gearing would suck for the 350

Unless you are swapping out the whole pumpkin which i doubt they sell, the cost of labor to swap out diff internals is pretty pricey.

Toyota/Lexus always sells the complete pumpkin, it's actually usually cheaper than just buying the differential itself. However even though it would bolt-in to an IS350 without modification, the gear ratio would be horrible.

We have been unable to confirm whether the IS F LSD will fit the IS350 ring gear however. Nobody has stepped up to try it yet. The ID of the ring gear and bolt circle is unknown to be the same, even though everything else is known to be. It seems likely that the IS350 gears would fit the IS F Torsen, but I've cross referenced the part catalogs globally and have been unable to consolidate them to confirm or deny.

Sorry you were still referring to the aftermarket LSD's, I was speaking about the factory IS F LSD.

Most (if not all) aftermarket/upgrade LSD's are just the differential, not the entire assembly (pumpkin), you are correct about that.

Sounds like it would be safe to go with an aftermarket LSD just because of what you guys are saying about the gearing.

Wish I could've bought the ISF!!

Why is the OS Giken LSD so much more than the Quaife LSD? Does anyone know the difference between the two and would it matter which on I get if i"m just driving the car on the street?

The Quaife LSD is a helical, mechanical diff made up of gears and washers setting preload.

The OS Giken LSD contains disks, like clutch disks, the give you more adjustablilty with the desired preload.

For more info on what might be good for your type of driving, read this :
