Weapon R intake install problem
Hi folks,
I finally broke down and bought the Weapon R intake for my '01 GS430. During the install, however, I found there were only 3 vacuum hoses (and ports) on the new intake, but it appears that this is not enough (of course I could have done something wrong, but it looks like an easy enough install). The picture attached shows the "extra part" that is leftover once the new intake is installed. I have no idea how this will integrate with the new intake.
Has anyone else had this problem? I've left a message for Weapon R to call me, but it's been 5 days so far and nothing... From reading the other posts here, I shouldn't be surprised, I guess.
Thanks,
-jb

yes i can help you. I have install the GS430 intake.
take this peiece off from the resonator. unbolt the 2 screws so you have this peice free. Leave the SMALL hose attach to it, the big hose should just be connect to the resonator.. there is no big hose really. WHen you get if off, put the weapon*r big hose (one connect to weapon*r pipe. and then connect it to the big nipple on the valve. the other end will go to the near firewall (same as stock). The other 2 hoses go to stock location. One to the crank case for vaccum, and the other you actually put the small hose INSIDE the big weapon*R hose.
If you do not add the vavle you will have check engine light, after you add the valve there will be no problems and you will be able to realize the power gain.
I hope i have helped you!

Well, sticking a smaller hose into a larger hose surely isn't the way to go... my brother-in-law wants to help me install the intake and ram-air kit... he fabricates stuff like you wouldn't believe so I'm going to let him drive on this one... hehe... A bit off topic, but here's a vette that he did (or re-did). 1100+ HP. I'll take some pics of my intake install for you guys when we're done if you like...
