give it 4 months, i bet you anything this new LS is going to end up slammed on coilovers and rolling Work Schwert SC2's. I have a very severe case of the mod bug

Knowing you, there is a possibility of yanking the V8 and swapping in a 2J lol.

I've been in a swapped GTE GS300 and it feels similar to a late series Soarer single turbo.

EDIT: For those that haven't been for a ride in a single turbo Soarer it's right up my alley, I could only imagine what BPU would feel like especially if it's a daily driver.

Here are a few videos I found of a BPU 400BHP Aristo V161 V300 which is the same as a 2nd gen GS300. The car sounds nice when it is has the BPU mods.

Just to update my impression since I never drove mine with twins or an auto, I just finished a stocktwins gte swap for a friend last weekend and drove it around some. I gotta say it was plenty fast enough to be fun, but not mind blowing or anything..

I would compare it to a GS400 overall, just with less bottom grunt but better fast freeway running.

Did this swap have the BPU mods or was it stock? From what I have read about the Aristos, without BPU the car feels kind of sluggish.

Has anyone installed USDM turbos on their vvti swap and kept it on stock fuel (440's) and aristo stock ecu? I am wondering at what psi would the car start to lean out due to the extra flow of the usdm turbos. My guess would be around 15psi.

Haha, yeah once you've tasted a single there's no going back. Fun is relative. I never had Honda's but my wife had a '99 Si for a daily a couple years back and when I would drive it felt nimble, peppy, and smooth to shift.. I will say it was a fun car to drive, but was not fast by any stretch. Although when kids have them they think they are fast by the fun way it shifts and revs. So it's a matter of if you don't know any better you may be happy. So comparatively if one were to come from a GE to a bpu GTE then it may be fun for a while.

If one has been watching sick supra video's on youtube and then put twins in a GS they be severely let down as the expectations have been set much too high.

Before he towed the car to my house he had installed all 3" intercooler piping and large 3" front mount, he brought over a 3" y pipe and mufflers sections he bought, and I welded up a 3" downpipe from turbo back to the y pipe for him, and installed a walbro 255. This is how I test drove the car.

I did not put a restrictor ring in the dp nor a cat, so it was overboosting and hitting fuel cut. The ebay exhaust he had bought had silencer inserts that came with it, and with those installed it added enough restriction to stop hitting fuel cut. So he is just running the inserts until the other parts are installed.

He is ordering a boost controller, 550's, boost gauge, safc, and wideband. So we will see how much of a difference pushing the twins up a bit will be.

As far as swapping twins or rebuilding them or anything of that nature, I kinda think it's a waste of time and money. It's all sounds good when your reading, browsing, and planning a swap, but once you go the hassle of taking off the twins, you be happier to just put a single on it and be done. The motor looks better, makes more power, is lighter, the engine bay has more room to work in, and you eliminate all kinda of BS like multiple VSV's, tons of vac lines, vac canister, water/oil lines, and all the wiring/connectors on that side of the motor..

The only time I see keeping twins is if you have a original twin turbo 6spd supra that you are trying to maintain as original as possible for the resale value.

This 100%. Do the math, it's 270 at the crank in a mid 3K lbs vehicle. That's pretty limp when you think about it.

Heck, my wife's last Rav4 made more power and weighed less. Hence, it'll run low 14's out of the box just like a Supra TT from that era.

It's more about potential power...
