Default M2 or Tanabe?

Hi everyone,

I am looking to purchase a exhaust for my IS250, but was not sure which one to get. I was wondering if you could tell me your recommendation and why?

Thanks!

m2 is ebay and tanabe is usually from club lexus vendors. You can also check craigslist for some good local sales. I personally like the tanabe and think it suits the luxury of a lexus well but being young id like my exhaust to be a bit louder like HKS.

There is also a vendor on here selling the M2. I would go Tanabe!

Thanks for the replies! I was wondering is the price difference of going with the Tanabe worth it? I have read that the M2 is very similar to the Tanabe.

The M2 is a close replica of the Tanabe. In sound, design, quality.
Some people say quality is debatable...from what I've seen its decent.

Its paying for original vs. replica. Decide if $$$ or name dropping is more important really.

Always goes for the original in performance and already been proven. All the cosmetics are okay to get replica

It's up to you, but if I were trying to save some cash and buy the tanabe, I'd buy a used one on here

I got the M2 and it's fine in sound, build , and quality. I had the replica Tanabe medallion exhaust on my G37 and it was perfect. My only complaint is the finish rusted a little bit, but that was nothing a bit of rust remover and polish couldn't handle.

Go for the M2 and get a couple other mods at the same time instead of the Tanabe. Just my 2 cents.

I've noticed that a lot of people have been selling their m2's lately. It makes me wonder about the quality. Id just go with a used tanabe if you can get a good deal. At least that way you know you're getting a high quality exhaust

The only reason I ever thought about selling my M2 was that it sounded monotone to me, but then I did some searching and spoke to some people and they informed me all isx50 exhausts sound like that.

Yeah, its ultimately up to you, but I'd save for a used tanabe. I was gonna get the m2 since my hks scrapes on my driveway, but after seeing how many people want to get rid of theirs I decided to keep the hks.
