Default PPE Headers and CEL Codes?

Hey guys, For any of you gurus or people running these headers please feel free to chime in. I have been running these for a few months and have been battleing a few different CEL codes. I am running them with the PPE High Flow Cats and Joe Z Race Exhaust. Paul provided me some extensions with the headers, not the 90 degree ones but just some extended ones and I was throwing the P0420 and P0430 codes. Then Paul sent me a o2 simulator and it took care of those codes but then i was getting the P0606 code. Grrrrr... Paul has been working with me extensively to fix the problem. He is going to send me the 90 degree bungs and also a o2 conditioner. If you have any ideas or possible fixes to my problems, I am open to all ideas bc i really want to keep these. Thanks CL.....

you still getting the p0606? In all likelihood, it saved the data at the time the P0606 was triggered so that someone with an advanced reader could see engine parameters or what not.

and heres some more I found out about it:

"P0606 can be caused by the impedance in one of the o2 sensor not dropping when it should. There is no code for that specific error and that fault causes the ECM to think it has an internal issue. If you can see the data list look for the impedance of the o2 sensors, run the engine and watch to see if they start dropping, the one that doesn't drop is the one that needs to be replaced. Clear the codes and drive it for a while. Hope this helps."

That why i waited for group buy, simply Paul was working on some ways to fixing those drilling holes and o2 sensor problems......... The new PPE Header required no drilling, just straight up install with o2 extension connect to the predrill holes and connect the simulator to the ECU box ... For people that want to keep the primary cats then weld those cats extension in between the mid pipe and the new header ( PPE header deleted those primary cats). or dont have to weld anything just using secondary cats.... from mid pipe..the reason u need to install simulator because PPE Header is much longer and o2 sensor is being moved away from the original spot ... the simulator triggers the system thinking that the o2 sensor still at the old location. that is the idea .. hope that help ...i'm very happy with my header

so who exactly has ordered the PPE headers with the 'new' o2 sim and had success? interested in specifically those that went straight from stock to the PPE with the newest o2 fix...no previous drilling, 90 degree extensions, etc..

if you were to order PPE now (and not have had any o2 modifications done previously), are we 100% sure the CEL wont be an issue? it seems like there are still some conflicting results... PPE input?

I have PPE headers on my F, but I have Hi-Flow cats so no need for the electronic O2 sim. A friend with another F had PPEs installed yesterday and he drove over to my house last night. He's running with no cats, he has a JoeZ. He's using the electronic 02 simulators. He has about 200 miles on the setup with no CEL.

I have them installed without cats and I did install the extension, however I still get code P0157 Low voltage o2 sensor. I just bought a clearing thing and everytime it comes up (every 200-300 miles) I just clear it. If i leave it running with the cel I notice it just gets slower and uses up more gas. could be my imagination tho

Hey blitz, when you installed your headers with the o2 sim, did you just leave the 02 sensors in their normal positions?? Or did you plug them up and have no 02 sensors at all?

The O2 Sensors were in the stock location when I was using the Mazzuri Sim. Probably the same for PPE as its just and electrical thingy...

yeah I figured. After I read the instructions more carefully, I realized that you intercept the signals from the stock 02 locations and just feed the ecu what it wants instead of whats real.
