Default Calling all SRT Race ECU owners...

Alright, this is the damnedest thing. I have a question for you.
When I put my tranny in "manual" and floor it from a dead stop I will get a slight chirp of the tires; however, if I leave it in "Drive" my car's back end breaks loose and won't stay entirely straight. This is all in dry weather. There is a HUGE difference in power.

Is this normal for you guys or do you think I have a unique situation. I'm highly puzzled.

I'm guessing that WOT is WOT.

It shouldn't matter if you are in D or Eshift 2. The transmission from a stop is always in 1.

Default Never noticed that problem

Hey fever – did you get any helpful info from Mo at SRT? I’ve come to believe that the numbers I got weren’t good ones so I tried to dyno again at Dallas Mustang last Friday but their dyno computer died while I was on the rollers. Anyway, I’ll let you know when I get another “opinion”. Probably be in 2 weeks before I can try again.

I wonder if putting it in "manual" blocks out 1st gear? When you e-shift, the lowest you can go is e2, so it's actually like starting out in second gear which would greatly reduce the torque to the rear wheels. Putting it in "Drive" allows the tranny to drop all the way down to first gear increasing the torque to the rear wheels causing you to lose traction. Just a guess.

Garnet, sorry to hear about the unsuccessful dyno. To answer your question, Mo swapped out my chip and the car feels much more responsive. To be fair, I put a new filter in as well but before I did the filter swap I put in the new Race ECU and it felt better. I don't have that nasty bog anymore.
I employ you guys to do your own test, launch in "manual" 2 and once in "drive". I would like to hear if your results are similar.

Even in "manual" mode, the car still starts from 1st gear. The tranny ECU did the 1st->2nd shift for you automatically.

The only difference I know between "manual" and "drive" mode is "manual" automatically puts the tranny into "power"mode. But that should only affect the shift point not at start up. So I'm confused too

If you are at a dead stop, it is in first gear eaither way.
