Can someone tell me if the Borla and/or L-tuned exhaust is JUST the rear mufflers or if it includes resonators and piping? I just checked with L-tuned and they offer an exhaust for my car, 99 LS400 but it is ONLY rear mufflers and they list for $1200 :eek: :eek:

 

Borla and L-Tuned exhaust systems for 98+ GS are just rear mufflers only. Didn't know that L-Tuned makes an exhaust system for 99 LS400?

Chu, thanks for the response. Yeah, I was surprised they offered an LS part but in fact it has straight out chrome tips designed to work with their LS body kit... I am probably going to design my own system using stainless steel mufflers and pipe. It is interesting to read how the GS gets a drone from the rear muffler change alone as there is are cats, a center resonator and 2 glass pack resonators prior to the rear mufflers. The LS has a similar but more restrictive system with muffler type resonators where the GS glass pack ride. This is probably the reason for the 10hp/10tq difference on the vehicles. I do NOT want a loud LS. I would prefer a very quite idle and cruise with just a slight increase in sound under full power. Flow is what I am after so I am going to need to experiment and keep the stock system unaltered for the possiblity/probability of re-installation for warranty or if I re-sell.
