Default TC and LSD Installation Question...

Hey, fellas!

I saw the LSD group buy post and got the mod bug biting me again

I read in previous posts that it makes sense to put TC and LSD, because they happen to work well together.

My question is specifically about the installation cost: do they (TC and LSD) have any common labor steps that can be eliminated by doing them both? In other words, is it cheaper to install both at the same time, rather than separately?

Also, does anyone know of a good place in the Bay Area that has the expertise to put these in and the quality and reputation to keep them working in the car after it leaves the garage (I am not sure I want my Lexus Dealer to know I have an aftermarket TC)?

Appreciate any info...

Thanks.

Thumbs down

TC goes in the tranny....the LSD is in the rear axle.
Two very different...or separate parts....sorry.

Vald - I had the same question and someone told me 'no' - two different installs, although it sure seems they are in the same general area.

Another advantage to doing them independently is you can better diagnose any problems you might have with the install of one of the pieces (rather than both of them).

Also - LSD group buy? You mean TC gb, right?

Default Got it, thanks!

DaveGS4, JYOO, thanks for answering this for me.

This actually, makes the process easier because I can get the TRD LSD installed at the dealer (under pretences that it is a Toyota part) and do the TC elsewhere... Cool!

And yes, Dave, I meant the TC group buy (sorry).
