SRT Turbo Kit Feedback???
First off, the price for what you are receiving is tremendous and a first for Lexus vehicles. I opted for Stage 2 & just love the all around performance. On both the highway & block to block, the car feels really strong.
Don't even talk about the blow off. It's insane while driving down streets w/ cars parked on both sides. The blowoff noise bounces off the cars & echos all over the place. It sounds like a plane or 18 wheeler applying air brakes.
Maintenance-wise, I'm sure to check my oil at least once a week to ensure proper levels in addition to visual inspections of the intercooler piping, blowoff, hose clamps, etc. to be on the safe side....and happy to report no problems.
If you check the racing stories section, you can read all about my encounters since having the turbo installed. The only race that I haven't posted is the incident with a turbo Acura Integra Type R. I did notch him in the end.
As far as aesthetics go, I am very pleased. I actually over indulged myself & did something a little extra on my pipes & intercooler. All the fitment is very smooth & if the colors under my hood retained stock coloring, you would have sworn that it came from the dealer like that.
The only items that immediately come to mind, as far as getting used to the turbo, would be letting the car warm up to normal operating temperature & cool down period. Adding a turbo timer will allieviate this minor inconvenience. In addition, when you change the injectors, as the SRT kit comes with (6) RC Engineering injectors, you have to be sure not to let the fuel level drop below 1/4 tank, as 1/4 tank is empty. I learned my lesson just as all the other Lexus forced induction owners have learned.
Let me know, via PM, what other questions you have.
