The wire at speedo is an SC thing..

Whats the details on your install? You have an 01, was an it an early or late year 01?

-Did your 01 have the Aristo/98-00 GS/Early 01 GS ecu harness or the Newest Style Late 01+ ecu harness?
-Are you using the GS or Aristo Engine ECU?
-Did you get the Aristo MAF with the swap?
-Are you using the GS or Aristo ABS/VSC/TRAC ECU??

Assuming you are using all ARISTO everything, you should check the VSS sensors for resistance.
If the sensors seem ok, and if you in fact had a New Style Late 01+ harness and had to cut/solder/repin/modify the harness wiring then I would check everything that was done there next.

This info is in another thread I posted it in, but I'll just post it here again. There are two VSS sensors on the Aristo trans, no 1 should be the front one, but you might as well pull them both and test them to see if the readings on both are in a similar range.

99 gs300 thanks for the info Ok so my gs300 is an early 01 not a late 01 I search a thread on hot To Tell if u have an early or late by looking at ur ecu so that's how I know... with that said my swap came off a 99 aristo all I did when I swapped the motor into my gs is run the tac wire in the igniter like I read on here and I ordered a Brand new maf from rhdjapan.com since my swap didn't come with one.... I am using the aristo ecu and the aristo trac abs and vsc computer as Well... so I will check the resistance on the vss and make sure its at 0.64 right? if I have to replace them do I need the jdm sensors or will the u.s. spec work? Is this all that could be wrong? I shall look under the car there is a possibility I migh of damaged one since I did the swap by myself...it sure was a b***h putting it in alone. Thanks again

Damn, My engine gets here next week and my swap is in an 03 gs300. Word on the streets is that it's gonna be a b****. All I can say right now is thanks to all you guys subscribed to this thread. Y'all informations are very helpful and I wish I had done this swap b4 to help with some inputs only my previous swap was on a Jzs147 gs300 which is a bit different from this. But when I get started and come across something that I can possibly help with I'll be posting. If anybody have some pointers please feel free to drop in. One question tho, guys that didn't get you engines with the drive shaft, where did you order one from? eBay ain't got any. There's 2 on there both of which are for the 93-97 aristo. Would the first haft of those work? I'm not too clear as the s147 aristo didn't come with the vvti gte but they r all from Japan so the you're might match up not sure. Any inputs??

I didnt receive my swap with a drive shaft so i use the front shaft off a 99/00 ls430 and i took it to a drive shaft shop and had it cut down to my gs300 size it was a little tight to get in so i suggest cutting it down maybe a half inch to an inch shorter than stock to allow u to install it a bit more easier

Check eBay

The ECU Model you want is: 89661-3A470, that one does not have the immobilizer

That's good. It's not going to be super easy to find one, but I'd look on ebay and hit up just about every JDM importer I could find. Chances are they might sell you one
