Just wondering had any1 installed these HKS cam gears into their gs300 and if so did it make any improvment at all.

I'M STILL DEBATING IF I SHUD GET THSE CAM GEARS...
I BELIEVE IT WUD WORK MUCH BETTER IF YOU PURCHASE SET OF CAM SHAFTS AS WELL.....BUT DEFINITELY, YR CAR WONT PASS SMOG...

i suggest getting something else.

aluminum cam gears seem to be "softer" and is prone to something like this:

That is due to WAY OVER tightening the timing belt, not due to it being aluminum.

The exhaust side is the only side that you will be able to use the cam gear on for the 98+ GS300's. The cam gear will yield really good results if the car has forced induction, but with the naturally aspirted car, it will be hard to say how much gain it would have.

belt was just right.

gears were replaced with another brand and it seem to hold fine.

the motor is forced induction, if anyone's wondering.

Thats odd then... Hundreds of sets have been sold without any issues. I, as have many other tuners, have used them on varying HP level cars from 400 to 900 with no issues at all. The only time I have ever seen something like this was on another brands cam gear and the belt tension was too tight.

Go figure
