Default Cam Gears

New to the forum, thanks for having me and my IS! Does anyone out there have experience with adjustable cam gears? I'm thinking of running the HKS brand. Good or Bad feedback please thanks.

HKS is great but you should have some other supporting mods like full exhaust, intake, and maybe BC 264 cams for best results. Then think about getting a piggyback to tune the car, good luck.

for the stock VVTI motor you can only run 1 Cam Gear on the exhaust side. VVTI is on the intake side so no Cam Gear there.

changing out the Cam Gear alone will do nothing. you have to have it tuned/retarded before you see any power improvements

HKS makes some nice stuff but make sure you're looking at version 2 of the Cam Gear. some of the previous versions had issues with the timing belt being chewed up.

BC = Brian Crower. 264 represents the average duration. in general terms the 264 is less aggressive. good for street car. 272 is more aggressive more for a drag race.
