other than just follow the DIY, get yourself a good drop-in filter...any brand would be fine, just your preference between names and oiled/dry...
Oh, and make sure you plug the MAF connector in all the way when you are done

to the OP, i'd keep a tight eye on the 2is classified section. every once in a while, someone will put up a joe z intake pipe for sale.
seeing as to how joe z stands behind his products and is very helpful regarding the products that bear his name, i believe that it's worth every bit the wait.

JoeZ Air Intake
Despite the modest horsepower gain numbers, the JoeZ combined with a K&N air filter was noticeable! The rear tires in my 2006 IS 350 now break loose in straight line acceleration when the transmission is in Power mode.
