Default Exhaust question

What's up everyone? Happy New Year! I got a 01 GS3 and I installed a header (Titanium wrapped) with a Magnaflow midpipe and finished it off with a Tanabe Medallion Touring catback exhaust. Car runs great but is too loud for my taste. I was wondering if I can tweek anything on the exhaust to make it quieter. I was thinking of taking out the midpipe and putting the OEM one back on, but not sure if it's worth the time and effort. Is there any other performance option? Please help.

Does the car still have a cat on it? If not put one on.

I agree stock midpipe will help a lot.

No, I don't think so. Just header to midpipe to catback exhaust. Are resonators the inserts that can be put in the tailpipe?

No, those are silencers, and Tanabe doesn't have silencers for that exhaust.

Yeah, I didn't think that Tanabe made silencers for that exhaust. I wonder if I replace the tanabe V-pipe with the OEM one that has the resonators, if that will quiet the sound? Would I lose any noticable power?

you cant do that without welding some stuff (the pipes dont match up..oem mid section is longer, with shorter mufflers where as the tanabe has shorter mid section and longer mufflers) I wouldn't recommend it, but it prob would be a lot quieter.

Thanks ford! I'm gonna start with switching out the midpipe and then maybe take out the measuring tape and see what would need to be done to get those resonators on the exhaust.
