Default 2003 GS430 SRT intake install problem...

Just purchased a new SRT intake and race ECu for my GS430. followed all the instructions to install the intake itself and all went great. on the part where you have to wire in the race ECU i have a problem. i followed the wiring diagram that was provided by SRT which said for 2001+ GS430,LS430,SC430 vehicles and there was a pinout to the factory ECU with wire colors and locations. I am having an issue where the "sensor 2" wire which is white is supposed to be spliced into the ECU's "Blakc wire on the last connector on the ecu to a black wire but when i look at my ecu and match the pin location there is a yellow/black wire there i belive. so what i did was is wire it to that wire beause that is the pin they want it wired to. and i went to start the car. it starts up but stalls out right away. if i give it gas there is nothing. just starts and stalls out after one second. any input from people who installed it on their gs430 before.... im stuck now with a disabled car and dont know what else to check.

Make sure you didn't forget to reconnect the MAF sensor or install it upside down.

I can't help you out there, but I do recall on my GS400 you could flip the MAF both ways and it would appear to connect. When on 'upside down' it would do something similar to what you describe.

May not be your problem, but remember it doing something similar on a friend's install.

love the sound of this intake. Wish I spent more time getting it to work on my GS.

Did you just pick up a GS?

the instructions say to tap the "black" wire for the sensor 2. the correct wire is the "black/yellow" wire. they have the right location though, 3rd from the right on the last plug.

had no issues, fired mine up right away!

haha, my pic looks like everyone elses 430 pic! haha

for those of you that have the srt intake. do you find the intake rests a little too close to the upper rad hose neck (basically where the area the thermostat would go in).

i find mine is actually rubbing right against it, adjusted the rad hose clamp, and wedged a temperary curbed piece of plastic + foam in there to keep the intake from rubbing a hole in the tube.

other than that, car sounds like an american v8 now, noticed slightly slower on low rpms, but pick up from 4000+ is good.

dont know about actual hp gains, but my butt dyno likes it.
