GS300 vs. SC300
I have a 93 GS300, and it is much slower than my dad's 92 SC300, especially from a start. I heard that the SC is a lot lighter than my car, but i looked it up and it is only 150 lbs lighter. Is my car supposed to be faster, or do all the GS300's seem sluggish from a standstill? Also, what can i do to make it faster, besides a turbo kit?...do they make intakes for these cars?
Hey, GrEen_GS300!
I am not a GS300 expert, but you have to consider several things:
1) Is the SC300 automatic or manual?
2) Is the gearing comparable on the two cars?
3) "Learning" automatic on the GS300 (does it have a PWR mode, are you using it)?
4) Do you drive the same when you compare the cars?
5) Engine to engine power variations.
As far as making it faster, you could go with the SRT intake and race ECU, exhaust mods, torque converter mods, install a lower geared differential (you'd loose on the fuel economy, though), nitrous shot (you can lose your engine on that one, if you don't do/use it properly).
Other people would probably be able to give you more precise information on what kind of time increase you can expect with these mods on.
Good luck!
