Default GS430 into GS400

hey guys i am wondering if anyone can tell me if its possible to throw in a gs430 motor into a 98 gs400?

i would be using the stock harness and tranny on the my 98 same with the ecu until i get it chipped later. but wondering if all the plugs etc..would plug up to all the sensors and work with no issues?

Hi just a question! when u say chipped! what exactly do u mean by that?

The standard ecu or are u replacing it?

Anything is possible. However if I remember correctly, the 3UZ ecu uses a pass-lock system and you'd likely have to transfer over the ECU, ignition switch, key, extra. With that being said, I'm not sure if a 1UZ harness and ECU will work on a 3UZ. You can always run a standalone ECU and bypass all the junk. Motor to motor, they are the same block, with slightly varying internals.

You're getting about the same power levels and probably less support from aftermarket.

Yeah, like 3UZFTE said, "anything is possible" but the 430 was design to be a different car than the 400. The 430 tranny was redesigned to be smoother and less mod friendly - not sure if the 430 motor can sync with the 400 tranny. There are other similar issues like electronics and drive by wire issues..

IMO - Since i do own both cars - though they look Identical - they drive and perform different than one another.. Save yourself a hassle an just replace the car with its original motor...
