mmmm budget build not trying to spend big money cuz am not looking for big power just alittle more peep lol but also worried about na rods now they are weak
Just an FYI, both options will cost good money. It will be a little cheaper if you are doing your own work. Search, there is tons of info on both options. GL
My target price for the turbo kit I'm developing is $4500 for Stage 1 320hp, and $5500 for Stage II 420hp. Keeping stock internals, running on pump gas, no check engine lights, fully tuned AEM FIC, and it will pass plug in OBD-II emissions testing with flying colors
It's still under development, should have more news in the coming months. It will be 100% bolt on kit with every bolt, fitting, and misc. piece included.

yea am doing the work my self looking at around under $1100 for na-t
For that kind of money you might be a little over your head for a NA-T build, let alone a swap. PM me and I can send you a stat sheet, based on products available on the market spring 2009, that will help you factor cost per swap, NA-T, supercharging, etc. You're not going to get away with anything less than $2,500-3,000 reliably unless you do most (and I mean most) of the work yourself.
You might also PM JeffTsai, he builds a new set-up every couple of weeks so he might have a few extra parts laying around
yeah, boosting isn't something you do on the cheap. My last budget for boost was 10k and that was with every bit thought through and with knowing I'd have to spend some more down the road.
Jeff, I look forward to see that setup if you produce it.
wow well i bought the manifold for $180 turbo cost me $500 (62/62 billet) pipping i have laying around b.o.v $180 wastegate $250 intercooler still have my old one being honest am just worried about reliablility i will post pics up as soon as i decide what to do to go na-t i have most parts as you can see but then again reliabilty is my worries i just dont understand how you guys spend 7k on going na-t am i missing something now again am new to the lexus game most of my life i have owned turbo hondas but at the end of the day turboing a car uses the same concept.Just looking for some advise and feel free to correct me were am wrong alway willing to learn thank you
The reason why some of us have spent that much is because quality parts were put in and the time taken to have it properly tuned is performed. This also means that at times you'll have to have custom pieces done as you build a turbo kit. I personally didn't put 10k into my current GS, but my last car was priced out at that.
I've seen cheap setups that I wouldn't go near. I want my car to be solid and have reliable performance, as such I spend the time and money to ensure it'll be a solid DD as well.
