Do you want to drain and refill or do you wish to flush out the entire transmission. If it's just a drain and refill, simply use a 12/14mm socket and remove the bolt from underneath the transmission pan and let it drain out. Then replace the crush washer and torque the nut to 19 lb/ft. and simply pour in transmission fluid while the engine is running until it's up to the fill mark.

if the car has never had a tranny flush and its high mileage, I would recommend against a flush. When you flush the tranny out, all the gunk buildup over the years will get loose and get caught in the tranny. You'll end up doing more damage then good

just do a drain and fill a couple times... drive 15 mins in between each drain and fill and make sure the TC locks up...

My car has 96k miles on it and im pretty sure it has never had a tranny flush before. (No previous records of a tranny flush) I NEED to get the fluid replaced. Should i just do a drain and fill or get a full tranny flush? Also what would i need to do a tranny drain and fill myself? A catch pan, 8 qt's of Tranny T-IV fluid and that's it? Thanks for the help! I've never done a tranny drain and fill before.

TL coats, I ended up buying alot of Type 4 also when doing mine. I bought like 10 qts but when i did drain i actually measured how many qts came out so i could put the exact amount back in and i dont even think it was over 3 or over 4
oh yah and u will need a small funnel i have a funnel with a tube that i got from autozone and it can store fluid and control of the fluid it fits right on to the dipstick and i do it slowly so it doesnt start leaking out of the dipstick
also while doing my timing belt i had my tranny cooler unplugged and added an additional cooler that time i had to add alot more like 4 quarts but it drained over alot of time like 2 weeks u could probably open that line and start the car while adding fluid to flush it more...

if you are under the car abount midway back of the car... or you can access from the side under the front door... you will see the tranny pan.. there is a drain bolt there in the center of the pan... just unscrew...
