this is what is going on now 152.4 and still 3/4 a tank left. usually at 152 im a little near the 1/2 mark or slightly below it. i was actually getting worried that maybe the floating device inside was pinched to the side and making it seem like i have more fuel than i really do? opened it back up again to make sure it was moving freely and it seemed ok? if it was really pinched would the fuel light still turn on even if the floating device is stuck? if its fine then WOW my gas mileage has greatly improved.

Sorry, I'm skeptical that suddenly your torque has increased enough to chip the tires. There are too many other factors like tire temperature, humidity, etc that would affect that. Fuel economy I could see.

2 filters? Do 98-05 GS's take 2 fuel filters?

GS only has 1 main filter. The other 'filter' is more of a screen that filters out large debris. Most people buy both filters since the assembly is already off the car and price is cheap as it is.

Ah, ok. Thanks for the clarificaton. I knew there was a screen along with the filter, just was thrown off by the comment about multiple filters. I contacted Sewell about the filter and screen last month before they put the parts on their website and would have been surprised if I needed to main filters since that was not brought up.

This most certainly is on my to-do list!

I'm doing the 120k service soon. MIght as well throw this little fix in there too. I'd love to see an increase in throttle response.

Holy crap! I currently get only about 140miles on 1/2 tank and 230ish until empty (or damn near close to it). I need to change my fule filter too! I have a '00 GS400 and it just turned 120,000 miles.

Is this DIY REALLY that easy? This is my Daily Driver and if I fukc something up I really don't feel like having it towed to a shop if I can't start it up. lol I am also scared to have a shop do it because if they mess it up then they could just blame it on the parts I supplied. I would want them to get the parts for me because they would charge me an arm and a leg. Perhaps I will just grow some ***** and do this. I am pretty handy as I have done many things on my car before but never anything having to do with the fuel system.

its honestly very easy to do. just follow all the threads and photos that the members supplied and itll give you a general idea of everything. I have a gs300 by the way so im not sure if that makes a difference with 8's but it should have a noticeable difference.

what i did was after removing the yellow slide clip, raise it up very slowly and just let the gas spill back in the tube. some even said to undo the wiring harness then start the car for a few seconds then remove & ive also read to just remove the gas cap. but always have a few rags around because it will spill a little.
