I was getting that ever since I drove on hills in San Francisco. Talked to my mechanic; basically, he said that the heat from the friction from riding on the clutch on the hills has changed the clutch material. In essence, it's hardened the clutch, causing that screeching noise.

I still get it from time to time, especially on hills, but from what he told me, it's nothing dangerous or bad on the transmission.

 

So I purchased this flywheel flywheel new from Rob and I only have one question. Did any of you change the rear main seal while you where in there?

it had a small leak which is normal after some miles
