saw that earlier today... i'd prob be better off dropping it off at a local race shop and have them do a custom build or something. Im sure it would prob cost roughly the same..... a sheit ton lol
You'd be better off than either dropping it off at a local Lexus dealer and driving away with an IS350.
im just a driver school candidate lol hes the Lexus Champion.... im taking notes! lol
so yeah i definatly do not want to put nitrous in the car. I have a race car that i run with NASA-SE right now so modding the Lexus is not really a big priority.... i just really enjoy modding!
So i suppose the route i will be taking is clean and simple.... nice drop, 19" stag rims, Vertex or ing lip, ICE, and some lighting mods here and there....
ISuxeL.... id like to get some feedback from you though on the air suspension.... If you could PM me some feedback on it.
my questions....
1. how is it on road trips?
2. what about when you have 4 people in the car and the trunk packed tight with luggage?
3. any problems at all? dependability?
4. Handling concerns?
Honestly, if you want to do some performance mods on the IS250, I would focus on the handling characteristics of the car. If you google 'lexus is250 f-sport', you'll find several magazine reviews of how much more fun the car becomes with a full suspension upgrade. Here's an example article I found:
i know im still a noob to this site and being a IS250 owner... searched and didnt really see a thread like this.
I recently traded a Z4 BMW and aftermarket products for that car were outragous in price for VERY LITTLE HP/TQ gains.... i found aftermarket products for the Lexus is less than half of the $$$ than the mods for the BMW were.
if you have any mods on your car and did a before/after dyno please post up in here.... what mods it is and your dyno chart. im interested in seeing what this little 200hp lexus is capable of!
My homie has a 2007 is250 and had an intake (forgot which one) tanabe exhaust, headers, and just reflashed his ecu chip
he said he got around 50-60 hp gain just from that

Your homie is lying, because there's no such thing as "reflashing your ECU chip" for added hp on the 2IS. Nor would the other items listed add anywhere near 50-60 hp. More like 25-30 tops.
Exhaust- 5-7 hp for the legal ones, 8-10 for the illegal ones.
Headers- 15-20 hp, 100% illegal in all 50 states.
And that's it.
So total of, maybe, 35 hp on the best day and failing emissions anywhere in the US... at a cost of around $2500-3000 depending if you do your own work or not.
Versus just spending $3500 or so to have bought a 350 instead with 102 more hp stock.
So what's the deal here? I know its an old thread but.. I'm seeing dynos clocking in at 158 HP and some at 174-175.
Whats the consensus?
It depends on the dyno used, as well as if they are reporting SAE corrected results (that correct and normalize the results).
Pre-supercharging i read 182whp (uncorrected) and 179whp SAE corrected with fujita intake, ppe headers, and joez racing exhaust. This was done on a Dynojet with 4,000lb rollers. I still havent dyno'ed post boosting ugh i need to do that.
I probably get flamed for this, but i rather drive an is300. Bone stock gets 180+ rwhp. My old is300 made 203hp with intake, exhaust, midpipe, cam gear and stock header. With cams and header you can make over 230.
