Right, sure, let us know how that goes. LOL.

I wonder if it's the same company who had already taken $50,000 from another forum member to do this swap and still hadn't given him a fully working vehicle yet.

Seriously, if you had an extra 15k you should've just bought an IS-F. 108 more hp (or 210 more than a 250) and full warranty and everything would actually work properly.

^the guy lives in thailand. not sure they sell anything but the is250.

so OP should just drive the is250 for what it is and then get a supra with a 2jz. win-win?

I realize that, I was replying to the guy mentioning the company in florida working on his car. If THAT guy had an extra 15k he'd be better off with an F rather than trying to engine-swap on ISx50.

All this talk of a 2JZ swap for $15K. I can't imagine that including all the APU goodies. At the end of the day, you've got a HELL of a lot of $ invested into the swap, but aren't running with the big dogs. Seems a waste. Not to mention the transmission and rear diff upgrade you'll need. Probably axles too. People don't take into account that it's a complete DRIVETRAIN swap, not just as simple as dropping an engine in. These aren't classic cars with an engine bay the size of your kitchen.

Granted, 100 more rwhp are only a full exhaust and boost controller away, but why not just save the effort and invest in an actual Supra?

Like the last page where we already discussed a 2JZ in a drift car- where nothing factory worked

Which is great for a track car, kinda sucks for one you actually want to drive on the street.

Completely agree with you on that one..
Enjoy the 2IS for what it is, and use the money that would be used for a swap to buy yourself a Supra. You get the best of both worlds without the headache and without sacrifice. Plus, you'll probably be saving money.

Even better bang/buck IMHO (especially with the insane resale GTE supras retain) is pick up a used SC300 and swap a GTE powertrain into it... it'll still come out a fair bit cheaper than a stock supra (let alone trying to make a supra drivetrain work in a 2IS), it's actually designed to hold a 2JZ, and you'll get the nicer Lexus interior too. (or if you really want the 2JZ in a sedan do the same with an older GS300)

The max speed that I had done with this car was 231 km/h (by Garmin GPS) or around 240 km/h (on car speed meter.)
As previously mentioned there is a company is South Africa that makes a supercharger kit for the IS250. They use a Vortec SC so I am curious to learn more about a Rotrex kit.

never knew the aristo came with turbo. i thought they had the same engines as the north american ones, but i didn't know too much about the GS to begin with except it has a 2JZ. you learn something new everyday.

Rotrex does not list a 2IS application on their website...

Nearest I see at all is the Toyota Crown-
http://www.rotrex.com/Home/Superchar...9-7f1e31165075

goes from 315 hp to 380...so that's gotta be the one with the 350 motor, not the 250 motor. (and given those hp numbers are probably engine hp the kit doesn't seem any better than what LMS or TOMs were offering)
