F-Sport Air Intake
Hi,
I am thinking about getting the F-sport air intake ($468 msrp) since I need to change the engine air filter soon. I missed out last time when Sewell had it on sale (well, I decided not to get it at that time) but did get the front lip for cheap.
I have read somewhere on the forum that people were getting it at around $350. Is that a everyday price or the on-sale price. Can someone confirm if Sewell is going to have another f-sport in March/April time frame?
Also, for people who got the f-sport intake, do you also purcahse the cleaning oil kit which costs around $26 (kind of on the expensive side for a bottle of oil).
thanks!!

The airfilter cleaning solution smells like oxi-clean; the stuff with the oranges. Works pretty well might I add. Just cleaned mine after 6k. Not sure what is recommended, but I did it anyways at 6 k interval.
To be honest, I really do think that the intake improves fuel consumption.

Thank you all for the suggestion.
I will probably buy it from ebay which I forgot to check. $320 shipped from lexus dealer at ebay is probably my best bet now. But of course I can wait a little bit until March/April to see if Sewell have another sale which may be cheaper.

This will be DIY. Installation instruction is here: http://www.sewellpartsonline.com/imp...-AI-0077-D.pdf
I opened the engine filter cover before to see if I need to replace it. Then, upon observation, I only need to loosen up a few more screws here and there to replace the whole thing. That is why I decided to get the f-psort air intake so I do not have to replace the enginer air filter every 15K miles (or was it 30k?).
I think it is easier than changing engine oil. Anyone with experience on installing the f-sport air intake, please correct me if I am wrong.

Hey thanks for the link! I'm definitely interested in the intake.
From my understanding, installation done by anyone else but Lexus will give you only 12 months of warranty. Installation by Lexus will give you 12 months or the car's warranty, whichever is longer... For me, I think it'd be beneficial to do it at a dealer.
Anyway willing to take a stab at how much it'd be/how long it'd take by the dealer?

i recommend to install the intake yourself or have a friend do it for you. Dealers will charge you BOOKU bucks.... the money u save from the installation, u can buy something else for the car.
if u take to the dealer it might take them 1-2 hrs, but its a 15-30 min job. they just want to charge u that extra hourly rate.
just something for u to think about before taking it to the dealer for installation.
