Just installed the AEM CAI. I should have taken some pics. Anyway, The actual pipe from AEM is double the size of the K&N and probably the rest of the CAI's. IT does come with an electronic module just to correct the MAF sensor readings so the check engine light doesnt turn on. The gains are the same as the rest of the CAI's. I've tried the F-sport and the K&N. The only difference is that the AEM sounds best with the F-sport exhaust. Nice deep tone rather than a high pitch raspy tone that the K&N produces. The AEM doesnt drown out the exhaust sound too bad at WOT either.

Personally I'd be kinda concerned they made an intake that apparently only works right if it includes something to lie to the ECU.

All the other intakes manage to work correctly without that.

Possibly because they use a correctly sized pipe instead of the over sized one you mention (even the stock pipe is plenty large enough to supply more air than the engine is capable of using so no idea why they put a huge pipe on it).

GUnit, any pics, video? Where do you end up getting yours from? How'd the install go? Looks like a fairly simple swap. And since you're pulling the stock box, no holes to cut!

To the OP who made this thread and everyone else who doesnt like to do their research......THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A COLD AIR INTAKE FOR THE 2IS. THEY DO NOT EXIST.

Either make your own or educate yourself about what type of intake your buying
