kits can range anywhere from 6 - 12 grand.. depending if u can still find a used LMS supercharger kit out there or Tom's Supercharger and wait months for it to arrive.. Then expect to pay additional couple grand to have it installed assuming u find a shop that knows what they are doing. so be ready to spend 8 - 15 grand plus. Then be seriously disappointed with the results that u just spend all that money and u barely get 30 - 50 hp out of it.

There isn't much on the market for superchargers or even turbos at the moment for the IS. LMS came out with a supercharger a few years ago, but it was discontinued. For more clarification, here's a quote from Kurtz who know's his s***.

You can likely cobble your own SC kit together cheaper if you can just get the mounting/fittment stuff someplace (or know someone who can make it cheap) but it's still unlikely to do a whole lot better than $100 per hp. (which again seems kinda insanely high, and makes this option no better than just getting a faster IS for the 350 guys and WAY worse than getting a faster IS for the 250 guys)

The problem is the inability to run more than 5-6 lbs of boost safely on a ~12:1 compression engine.

Even TOMs in Japan, with access to reprogramming the ECU, doesn't exceed 6 lbs of boost (5.8 IIRC versus the 5 lbs of the LMS kit, and TOMs requires 100 octane to manage that and costs $10,000)

You can get a BIT higher if you add some kind of additional injection system (alky/meth/water) but that ups cost and complexity for again, pretty modest added gains.

you will be better off trading your 350 for the ISF that way you will get an extra 100HP and OEM warranty

word...doing it right will cost you around 5k, and i heard you only get around 50 rhp more with a sc setup (without any engine problems in the long run). best bet is to trade it in and get a ISF. to much problems occur with any FI setup cars.

Nothing is useless. You guys just don't want to spend the money. I understand that it's not worth it and all but if you want it then go out and get it.

Yeah, so what? Our cars will never beat a JB3 335i. What's your point? Bring out that IS of yours and lets talk
