PPE Engineering IS350 header development
Not for the IS. I don't know about you but in my account 1 bone=$100. So it took a lot of excavating to comeup with the funds for it.
Its can't work the direct injection on the IS350. The new Motec Magnesium series ecus (which are currectly being tested) might be able to do it. But I won't be going that route. I purchased the M820 w/Lambda, logging, VVT, DBW, TCS, boost control and flat shift. I also have the Motec PLM. The PLM will operate 1 NTK wideband sensor and the M820 will do the other. I do plan on using a pair of GT30Rs. The PLM's display will be a visual for the wideband.
Eventually, I'll be using a Motec mini-display in the carbon steering wheel (in place of the airbag) and keep the OEM analog gauges w/a TRD 10K Tach. The M820 was choosen since it will be able to do a lot more than other ECUs are capable of doing not to mention future expansion.
To be honest I love the IS350 the way it is. I feel that factory has done a lot to maintain a delicate balance of performance, dependability and most importantly, drivability. It would be very difficult to recreate or maintain this balance while pushing the performance envelope further. For what I need the car to do, to and from work, taking the kid to and from our parents, trip to the groceries and stores, etc., it does it seamlessly and makes dealing with life so much easier.
Most heavily modded supras (also considered APU: Advance Performance Upgrade) require a lot of modifications to get there, fuel system, exhaust work, charge piping work, crankcase breather, valvetrain, cooling system, etc. Most of the guys choose to go the AEM EMS route or the HKS V-pro for engine management and Racelogic TCS for traction control. Having driven these vehicles with them (even well tuned) I've never quite enjoyed driving them. I'm hoping to get OEM like drivability with my MKIV. With the Motec managing it I can have brake control on demand with TCS engagement like OEM does not to mention a lot of other advantages everywhere else.
