Smile Need some advise on brake upgrade

Need suggestions on upgrading the brakes on a gs430. What would be the ideal system?? I have 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 work wheels with an unknown offset, but I have about a 1/2 in. clearance on the front caliper and about an inch on the rears.

what are the advantages or disadvantages of slotted or drilled disks?? is heat transfer or contact area the main issue between the two.

thanks

Go with the Supra brakes, I think you can pick up a set from Steve Ganz for around 700 or the RMM kit which is the same for around 975. On the rotor question drilled rotors are more prone to microscopic cracks and slotted arent.

I don't think 1/2" clearance is enough.... You need a lot more than that to clear the supraTT calipers.

Let me know if the information was wrong.. I would also like to upgrade my.. I have measure before.. and I have a lot more clearance 1" still was not enough...

Steve Ganz told me I had no chance of putting any big brake upgrade on my 8.5/9.5 rims.

Default Brembo's???

If the supra tt aren't an option, will brembo's fit.

By the way the offset on my wheels are +38 on the fronts and +41 rears.

You can certainly try the brembo brake as same advice was given from my local car shops (SP Engineering).

I was given the same information when I was consider the same upgrade path. I have ask several vendor to measure the distance from the surface of the disc to the lowest/highest part of the caiper.. So instead of telling us the offset on the wheel..and wheel spoke design.. you could just measure the clearance ur self. I end up with just the minor TRD pad/disc upgrade.. with SS Line..

With +38 offset, I'd think it should fit the SupraTT brakes. I have the RH C5 w/ straight spokes +44 offset. It did not clear the calipers. I ended up shaving the calipers to fit.

Brembo is silimiar to SupraTT brake design. You'll need at least 2.5" clearance from rotor surface to the lowest edge of wheel spokes to clear the calipers.

After you upgrade the brakes, your full size spare won't work any more. I got a SupraTT spare in the trunk in case
